The houses are a project of UNHCR, Better Shelter and IKEA Foundation and were created for respond to emergencies, like the one happening in Rio Grande do Sul or to shelter refugees around the world.

Every house could it be erected in up to six hours, has 17.5 square meters, is 2.83 meters high, 5.68 meters long, 3.32 meters wide, anchoring system that guarantees stability to the residence, bathrooms and dining areas are set up in the external area and are of collective use, the total weight is 140 kg. 

O cost of each house is about R$ 6 thousand. According to Better Shelter, a social enterprise that develops the houses, they resist winds of 101 km/h.
