A 12th edition of the GD Sudeste Forum, began on Tuesday night (8), and continues until the end of this Thursday afternoon (10).
With the aim of bringing together the DG production chain with renewable sources in southeastern Brazil in 2022, the event takes place at Blue Tree Premium Morumbi, in the city of São Paulo (SP) and is attended by authorities, entrepreneurs and experts in the field .
The event is organized and carried out by FRG Media & Events Group, promoted by ABGD (Brazilian Association of Distributed Generation).
To Guilherme Chrispim, national president of ABGD, the energy agenda is fundamental, as the world is going through a global change in the energy matrix. “What is happening in the world now, much of this background and conflict involves the energy issue”, he stated, during the launch of the event.
According to Chrispim, the capacity to produce energy in a more sustainable and balanced way will make a difference in strategic choices and decisions within a global perspective.
“Added to this moment of conflict and war, we also have the climate issue and the search for sustainability.” He adds that “it is natural that more and more companies and developed countries are looking for alternatives to generate clean energy”.
Fórum
The GD Forum takes place annually and brings together solution providers, EPCs, integrators, distributors, manufacturers, professionals and academics, who have in common direct or indirect action in distributed generation from renewable energy sources. It is an opportunity for representatives from the public and private sector to discuss and propose improvements for the sector.
During the event, the representative of Abens (Brazilian Solar Energy Association), Ildo Bet, highlighted that the sustainable energy market is on the rise, especially solar, and stated that this growth will greatly cooperate with the mitigation of climate effects and the problem of increasing energy costs due to conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
“The sun is democratic, because it rises every day and for everyone. It is clean energy, it is non-polluting and will not harm nature. It is an immense benefit for society. This growth in distributed generation using photovoltaic solar energy in homes, businesses, industries, government agencies, and agribusiness is irreversible”, guaranteed Ildo.

Southeast leads production
In Brazil, there are already more than one million roofs producing solar energy. The highlight goes to the Southeast region, which accounts for 35,6% of photovoltaic energy generation.
Minas Gerais, in fact, is the leading Brazilian region in generation, with almost 18% of everything produced from DG in the country. In the state of Minas Gerais there is legislation of its authorship that exempts ICMS from up to 5 GW of photovoltaic solar energy.
For the state deputy of Minas Gerais and president of the Renewable Energy and Water Resources Commission, Gil Pereira, the moment of war reinforces the idea that the country needs to invest in renewable energy, especially solar.
“We have the sun for 365 days a year and, with technology advancing more and more, when the battery is already effective in our country and in the world, we will dispense with fossil energy and only renewable energy will move our planet”, declared Pereira .
Representing the state of Espírito Santo, Raquel Freixo, Undersecretary of State for Competitiveness, highlighted that the participation of bodies in these discussions and in the context of the state as a public policy is essential.
For Raquel, the Union, municipalities and federated entities must join private initiatives in the search for solutions to promote and further enhance energy generation from these renewable sources.
Raquel also reinforced the importance of Espírito Santo's role in this achievement: “This is only possible when we do it with four hands and the state of Espírito Santo has done this homework now more than ever, as we have left a well-established business environment suitable for companies to want to import their products there, manufacture and even generate their own energy.”
legal security
With the publication in January of this year of Law 14.300 / 2022, in the Official Gazette of the Union, which creates the Distributed Generation Legal Framework, the production of photovoltaic energy now has more legal security. Since the legislation provides for a transition period for projects requested within 12 months from the publication of the law.
In practice, this means that all GD projects, already installed or whose access request occurs until January 7, 2023, will be valid under the current compensation rules provided for in Resolution 482 (Normative Resolution No. 482/2012 ), until December 31, 2045.

For the president of the Syndenergy of Mato Grosso and regional coordinator of ABSOLAR (Brazilian Solar Energy Association), Tiago Vianna, laws like this and examples of public policies in the Southeast region to encourage photovoltaic production reflect on the Mato Grosso market:
“Legal security is one of the main points for the development of the GD segment. The topics discussed here impact the entire national scenario”, concluded Vianna.
The event lasts until today, and its register can be carried out through the Southeast Distributed Generation Forum website. As a way of reaching a greater number of people, the event can also be viewed in a online.
