The communities of Uibaí and Ibipeba, in Bahia, received a professional training initiative in early December, promoted by Canadian Solar and Statkraft, as part of a pilot project to install an energy storage system at the Santa Eugênia Complex.
According to the company, the action reinforces the companies' commitment to social development in the regions where they operate. To make the initiative possible, INFOP was hired, which was responsible for conducting the courses, focused on training and employability.
In total, 29 people participated in the in-person activities, with a total of 24 hours of coursework for each course, in the areas of Administrative Assistant and Office Assistant. “This initiative reflects our commitment to sustainable development, integrating clean energy generation with positive social impact. It is an important step in strengthening the communities where our assets are located,” stated Guilherme Melo, Construction Director of Statkraft Brazil.
This vision was also shared by Samir Moura, General Manager at Canadian Solar, who highlighted the importance of aligning technological innovation and social inclusion in the regions where it operates. “We believe that the energy transition must go hand in hand with social development. Therefore, initiatives like this are essential to prepare local communities for new opportunities that arise with the arrival of clean energy projects,” added Moura.

In addition to the in-person courses, participants will also gain access to a bonus 40-hour online IT course. According to both companies, the project is part of a sustainable development strategy, combining renewable energy, job creation, and professional training.
