According to FIFA (International Football Federation) and the UN (United Nations), Forest Green Rovers is the most ecological football club in the world – the only one with a certificate of neutral carbon emissions.

The team plays in the fourth division of the English championship and is currently in 6th place – in the last six games they have lost five and drawn one. 

Such performance on the field may not be one of the best, but when it comes to sustainability the club has been leading the world competition in the race for renewable energy. 

Based in Gloucestershire, England, it includes several ecological measures, implemented since 2010. The club's electricity, for example, comes from photovoltaic sources (a solar energy system installed on the roof of the New Lawn stadium) and wind.

Furthermore, it has a lawn mower that uses photovoltaic technology, a charging point for EVs (electric vehicles), an electric van that carries the players' equipment, as well as uniforms made with bamboo charcoal and the lawn is irrigated with collected water. of the rain.

Future

For the future, Forest Green Rovers announced that it intends to build a new arena, with capacity for five thousand fans, called Eco Park, in Stroud, in the next two years.
