A agroecological cooperative D'Irituia, located in Irituia, a municipality in the state of Pará, located in the Brazilian Eastern Amazon region, received the donation a work de solar energy of 44 kWp.

O Sunday with Huck, TV Globo program, in partnership with Nature, presented the entity with the plant, which has 80 550 W modules from Renovigi Solar Energy and was assembled on the ground with development and installation by Soft Engenharia Solar.

There, local Iritui producers gather who have implemented agroforestry systems (SAFs) in their crops, making the viability of agroecological and diversified family farming not only guarantee the population's food security and sovereignty, but also become responsible for environmental services , such as carbon sequestration, protection against erosion, in addition to protecting water sources and the microclimate of northeast Pará.

Among the main products sold by D'Irituia is Tucumã, a fruit native to the Amazon region that, at first, was seen as a pest, destined for disposal, and with the guidance of Natura researchers, who made farmers aware of the great value and the potential of the fruit, the processing proved to be an excellent cosmetic raw material.

According to Renovigi, along with other crops that promote the cooperative's bioeconomy, the investment in Tucumã transformed the lives of many families: it boosted their sales, increased the income of cooperative farmers and earned them many prizes.

Furthermore, producers' commitment to sustainability has been highlighted with the fulfillment of 10 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established by the UN.

With the inclusion of the plant, D'Irituia will now comply with another one: SDG 7, Clean and Affordable Energy, contributing to the cooperative's entire Tucumã production chain becoming, in fact, 100% sustainable.
