Copel is carrying out this Sunday (26) the construction of a new distribution network that will enable the energization of the “Caximba Solar Pyramid”, a project by the Municipality of Curitiba that is being built on the old landfill.

According to the city hall, the photovoltaic project has around 8,600 solar panels and, when ready, you will have installed capacity of 4.55 MW.

The new plant will inject the energy generated into Copel's network and the plant is expected to start generating energy in March, during the celebrations of Curitiba's 330th anniversary.

The work is being carried out by Photovoltaic Bonö, an engineering company specialized in photovoltaic solar energy generation systems, with emphasis on the B2B market.

The Pyramid is part of a set of program initiatives Curitiba More Energy, which also includes the installation of panels in the 29 de Março Palace, in the Barigui Park Events Hall and in the Quatro Estações Gallery, in the Botanical Gardens. In addition to CGH Nicolau Klüppel, which generates energy from the waterfall in Barigui Park.

For the next stage of the program, two more photovoltaic systems are in the initial phase on the roofs of the Santa Cândida (465 kWp) and Boqueirão (512 kWp) bus terminals. At Pinheirinho (925 kWp), implementation is in the final bidding phase and competition for works on the Curitiba Rodoferroviária should begin soon.
