A Social Rate guarantees the up to 65% off in electricity bills for low-income consumers.
In the regions of Sorocaba, Baixada Santista, Jundiaí and in the cities of Indaiatuba, Salto e Itu, supplied by CPFL, more than one thousand 92,1 consumers already receive the Social Tariff.
However, this number can reach 240,5 thousand, since 1 other48,4 thousand families are eligible for benefit, according to CPFL estimates.
A accession of customers to the program is Automatic and made by the dealership itself, but divergent and outdated data in the CadÚnico (Single Registry), from the Federal Government, may make it impossible to qualify for and receive the benefit.
Gustavo Uemura, commercial director of CPFL Energia distributors, explains that inclusion is done by crossing of records of customers in the company's system with those in CadÚnico. To identify those eligible, the information must be identical in both databases.
“It can happen that name is not spelled the same way on both platforms or the consumer has a address in the government registry and another in CPFL’s registry. These are some of the discrepancies that prevent the customer from being immediately included in the Social Tariff”, highlights Uemura.
The company claims to run campaigns on social media, customer service channels and via email to encourage customers who meet the requirements to receive the discount. It is a percentage that can make a difference in the budget of many families.”, concludes the director.
