O Governor's House Cultural Park, installed in the official residence of the government of Espírito Santo, received a solar tree and a photovoltaic plant this week.

A solar tree has installed capacity of 3,5 kWp. It is made up of 21 photovoltaic sheets, covers an area of four square meters and has investment of R$294 thousand.

A photovoltaic plant count with installed power de 84 kWp, has 156 photovoltaic modules and should produce 10 MWh monthly. O investment was R$706 thousand.

O Cultural Park is a space intended for the population which benefits from cultural productions received at the location. The solar energy projects installed in the park meet the space's energy needs.

Os projects were developed by LabTeL (Telecommunications Laboratory of the Federal University of Espírito Santo), in collaboration with the CPID (Center for Research, Innovation and Development of Espírito Santo), Elena (Renewable Energy Management Laboratory), with the support of secti (Secretariat of Science, Technology, Innovation and Professional Education).

A Fapes (Espirito Santo Research and Innovation Support Foundation) provided financial support that subsidized the studies of photovoltaic projects.

“In addition to raising issues related to sustainability and preservation of the environment, the Solar tree is a project that brings several economic benefits such as its durability and cost optimization on the energy bill, in addition to its representativeness in relation to local technological innovation, as it is an initiative from Espírito Santo”, commented the Secretary of State for Culture, Fabricio Noronha.

"The use of the solar tree also symbolizes the development of rational use of energy for the future, as it is a model that can be expanded and used for the general population”, he concluded.
