In 2017, the Boa Vista City Hall (RR) decided bet on photovoltaic solar source to save resources and contribute to the environment. From there to here, five years have passed It is Today, all the savings generated by the use of renewable sources are being applied to investments for the population.
Each year, the municipality saves approximately R$ 5 million with investments made in photovoltaic solar power generation plants at the Municipal Theater, Mini Terminal Luiz Canuto Chaves, at Mercado Municipal São Francisco, at Palácio 9 de Julho and in the parking lot of the Public Services Secretariat.
Another 75 air-conditioned bus shelters also have solar panels and, according to the City Hall, all the savings generated are reverted to investments in the public services sector, with 25% allocated to Education, 15% to Health and 5% to the Assistance area. Social and Infrastructure of Boa Vista.

In total, more than 95% (15.27 kW of the 15.95 kW) of the State's power comes from the capital of Roraima alone. In the locality, the consumption class with the highest volume of installed power of photovoltaic solar energy is services related to the Public Power, with 5.84 kW (38.2% of the total).
