A ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) approved the annual tariff adjustment for Enel Distribuição São Paulo. Starting July 4, 2025, electricity bills for consumers served by the distributor will increase by an average of 13,94%.

According to the decision, the impact will be 13,47% for low voltage consumers, which include homes and small businesses, and 15,77% for high voltage customers, such as industries and large commercial establishments.

According to ANEEL, the increase is the result of factors external to the distributor, such as sector charges, energy acquisition, transmission costs and federal and state taxes.

These elements, defined by federal laws and regulations, represent the majority of the tariff composition, according to the Agency. The costs directly attributed to the distributor correspond to only 1,02% of the total adjustment.

Hugo Lamin, Director of Regulation at Enel Brazil highlighted that the distributor is not responsible for defining the tariff values and that the adjustment follows a methodology defined by the regulatory agency, based on calculated costs and estimates, with compensation mechanisms when necessary.

According to him, the tariff model seeks to maintain the economic-financial balance of the concessions and ensure predictability for consumers and companies. “Most of the electricity bill It is made up of costs that go beyond distribution and include amounts passed on to the generation and transmission sectors, in addition to taxes and charges passed on to the federal and state governments,” he said.

Red flag maintained

In addition to the adjustment, the ANEEL kept the red tariff flag level 1 for the month of July throughout the country. The level implies an increase of R$4,463 for every 100 kWh consumed, due to the scenario of below-average rainfall and lower hydroelectric power generation.
