This week, Enel-SP completed the delivery of an energy efficiency project that will benefit the Amador Aguiar Hospital and Maternity and four municipal schools in Osasco (SP).

The investment, of approximately R$3,8 million, included the modernization of the lighting and air conditioning systems, in addition to the installation of mini photovoltaic plants in the units.

The initiative is part of the Energy Efficiency Program of ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) and was officially delivered to the Osasco City Hall.

“Energy consumption becomes significantly lower, which generates economic and financial benefits and allows the City to direct resources to other projects that benefit the population,” said Guilherme Lencastre, president of Enel-SP.

Hospital

At Amador Aguiar Hospital and Maternity, 328 photovoltaic modules were installed, in addition to replacing 66 air conditioning units and 1.860 old light bulbs with LED fixtures.

With the improvements, the expectation is a reduction of 640 MWh per year — enough energy to supply more than 213 homes —, which should represent an annual saving of around R$450 thousand on the institution's energy bill.

Schools

In the four municipal schools involved — Jardim Rochdale, Profa. Terezinha Martins Pereira, Marina Saddi Haidar and EMEF Oneide Bortolote — more than 2,3 lamps were replaced with LED technology.

Additionally, two of them, Jardim Rochdale and Marina Saddi Haidar, received mini-solar plants with 232 photovoltaic modules. Combined, these initiatives are expected to generate an estimated annual savings of R$310 on the schools' energy bills.

Congratulations on the initiative in Osasco, which will generate significant savings and sustainability. Are there any plans to expand this energy efficiency project to other cities? Best regards. Telkom University Jakarta
