Engie Brasil has opened applications for InovaSolar, an initiative that finances innovation projects focused on large-scale solar plants. The selection prioritizes companies and proposals from the North, Northeast and Central-West regions.
Universities, startups, ICTs (Science and Technology Institutes), consultancies and technology-based companies based in Brazil can participate. Registration is free and can be done until June 9th at Engie website.
The projects will be part of the R&D&I (Research, Development and Innovation Program) of ANEEL, managed by Engie Brasil Energia, focusing on the operational and energy efficiency of solar parks.
The call for proposals does not impose a financial limit on proposals, but considers the adequacy of costs to the scope of the research. Projects must be original, have a maximum duration of 18 months and must be completed by the end of 2026, including field tests.
The research will be structured around ten strategic axes, addressing challenges such as cleaning photovoltaic panels, preventing theft, controlling vegetation, detecting fires, reliability of solar trackers, reducing operational losses and responding to extreme weather events.
Teams must have a technical leader with a PhD and postgraduate scholarship holders, in the case of academic institutions, or senior and full professionals, in the case of private companies. Funding may cover team costs, acquisition of materials and operational expenses.
The selected projects will be announced in July, with activities beginning in the second half of 2025.
