Engie will hold two electronic auctions to purchase long-term energy. The competitions are scheduled for October 27th and 29th, both at 2:30 pm.
According to the company, the energy must be delivered to the Southeast/Central West submarket, but it can come from any region and will be used to supply the ACL (Free Contracting Environment).
The first auction, scheduled for October 27th, provides for the purchase of 50% incentivized electrical energy – a 15-year product with supply for the period from 2023 to 2037, originating from wind or solar photovoltaic energy projects. This event is aimed at companies that have generation projects in development, implementation or operation.
The second auction, scheduled for October 29th, provides for the purchase of 50% incentive electrical energy – a 5-year product with supply from 2022 to 2026. To participate in this event you must be duly registered with the CCEE (Energy Trading Chamber). Electricity), in the modalities of energy supplier, generator, independent producer and self-producer.

Last week, the Minister of Mines and Energy, Bento Albuquerque, participated in a ministerial round table, promoted by the IEA (International Energy Agency) and OLADE (Latin American Energy Organization), under the title “Ideas for a regional energy agenda for post-covid-19 Latin America”.
During the online event, Albuquerque commented on the energy generation auctions, recalling the cancellation of those scheduled for 2020. He highlighted, however, the maintenance of the transmission auction, planned for December, which, according to him, is the only auction in the year focused on the expansion of the sector.
“Before the end of the year, we will present, as planned, a generation and transmission auction plan for the next three years”, announced the minister.
According to Albuquerque, preliminary studies indicate that Brazil will need new energy from 2025 onwards.
