A Neoenergia Pernambuco and AACD (Association for Assistance to Disabled Children), inaugurated, last Monday (26), a solar power plant installed at the entity's headquarters, located in Recife.

The system has 97,2 kWp, with an annual generation estimated at 154 MWh/year. The initiative will provide a reduction in annual consumption by around 36,8%.

The works lasted eight days and, in total, 180 photovoltaic modules were installed, in a approximate area of 360 m². Each panel has a power of 540 Wp.

“This project is very important for Neoenergia Pernambuco, as this was the first AACD unit built in Brazil. Contributing to the excellent service that the Association provides to the people of Pernambuco is a source of pride for all of us”, stated João Paulo Rodrigues, director of Institutional Relations at Neoenergia.

“It is through the generosity of companies like Neoenergia that we continue to provide quality of life for our patients. Even with the pandemic, we deliver around 78 thousand services per year. And there are more than 1000 products delivered to our orthopedic workshop per month”, said Luciana Martins, administrative manager at AACD.

“Our revenue at the rehabilitation center is 100% SUS and this table has not been adjusted for over 14 years. Hence the importance of these partnerships. Just at the beginning of the solar plant’s operation, this project has already provided 320 services”, he highlighted.

The relationship between Neoenergia Pernambuco's Energy Efficiency Program and AACD did not begin this year. In 2021, the distributor replaced around 80 inefficient lamps and 25 luminaires with new LED ones in the internal area of the hospital and in the health unit's parking lot.

The action with AACD is not an isolated action by Neoenergia Pernambuco. It has already promoted the replacement of light bulbs in hundreds of public buildings in the state and built plants in places such as TRF-5, Pernambuco Cancer Hospital (HCP), Recife Women's Hospital, Armindo Moura Hospital, Dom Tomás Hospital, Fundação Terra , between others.
