The board of ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) unanimously authorized the revocation of operating permits for a series of solar projects in the Northeast. Together, they would generate 171,9 MW, but never came into operation. With the decision of the leadership, the grants are canceled.
Among the projects, the largest photovoltaic generating plant was Serra do Mel VIII, located in the municipality of Serra do Mel, in Rio Grande do Norte. With an installed capacity of 48,11 MW, it was not in commercial operation.
The UFVs (photovoltaic plants) Lagoa 1 and 2, belonging to the Central Solar Lagoa, in São José da Lagoa Tapada, Paraíba, also lost their concession. Each unit would have a capacity of 32,89 MW, which were also not commercialized.
Completing the list were BJL2 and BJL6 Solar SPE s/a, both in Bom Jesus da Lapa, Bahia, each with a capacity of 24 MW; and UFV Aventura Solar, located in Touros, Rio Grande do Norte. This was the one with the smallest capacity, with 10 MW.
All companies are exempt from the obligation to invest resources in R&D (Research and Development) because they operate a solar-based generating plant. None of them had any record of default found in the company's systems. ANEEL nor sanctions on the Transparency Portal of CGU (Office of the Comptroller General of the Union).
