Evolua Energia and Trinity Energias Renováveis came together to create a new company aiming to explore the opportunities of the Free Energy Market, after full opening to small and medium-sized consumers, known as retail consumers. The companies hope to gain 10 customers over the next four years, with monthly demands between 30 kW and 500 kW.
This union is part of the companies' strategy to take advantage of synergies between the two businesses. While Evolua operates in the distributed solar generation segment, with great expertise in retail, Trinity has more than 10 years of experience in selling energy on Mercado Livre, with a transacted volume of an average of 2 GW per month. Currently, Evolua is present in eight states and will now have a national reach.
“The combination of the companies’ expertise aims to achieve operational efficiency and sustainability in a market that is experiencing unprecedented growth. With a central focus on simplifying processes in an automated way, the joint venture will integrate technology into the contracting cycle and relationships, seeking a closer and more personalized approach, which aims to facilitate interaction and increase the customer's lifetime with the company ”, said Tarcísio Neves, CEO of Evolua.
For João Sanches, CEO of Trinity, the partnership is a significant milestone for the company, which is already preparing for the full opening of Mercado Livre for low voltage. “We are anticipating changes that will benefit the entire segment, in a similar way to what has been observed in other global markets, such as Europe and the USA.”
The retail consumer is one with demand below 500 kW, benefiting from Ordinance No. 50/2022 of the MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy), which allowed all consumers connected to high voltage, the so-called Group A, to have access to Mercado Livre since January this year.
According to the CCEE (Electric Energy Trading Chamber), more than 10 thousand consumers have already migrated to Mercado Livre in the first half of this year, the majority of which are retail consumers. Since January, the ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) registered more than 27 thousand transfer requests to the Free Market between 2024 and 2025, of which around 25 thousand are retail consumers.
