ExpoSolar Colombia 2024 seeks to boost the solar sector in Latin America and the Caribbean

The eighth edition of the event features 35 countries and more than 380 exhibitors

ExpoSolar Colombia 2024 seeks to boost the solar sector in Latin America and the Caribbean

A ExpoSolar Colombia, will be carried out by eighth time in 2024. The fair is entirely focused on solar energy and takes place at the Plaza Mayor Medellín International Convention and Exhibition Center, 16 the 18 October.

The fair seeks to enable business between the solar sector in Latin America and in the Caribbean connecting manufacturers, distributors, traders, installers, investors, banks, EPCs (Engineering, Procurement and Construction Companies), service providers and other members of the value chain.

Furthermore, the event aims to encourage solar energy implementation in industry, commerce, countryside and residences promoting energy transition, decarbonization of the planet and sustainable development.

By June 2024, the Colombia reaches 1,3 GW of renewable energy in commercial operation, being 593 MW in large scale generation centrally dispatched; 519 MW in large scale generation not centrally dispatched; 11,7 MW of distributed generation; 68 MW in large-scale self-generation e 142 MW in small-scale self-generation, according to the Being Colombia - Renewable Energy Association.

The event will feature more 380 exhibitors em 17.500 m², presenting new solutions scientific and technological; Business roundtable, international congress about solar energy using lithium batteries; to solar farm display which generates part of the energy consumed by the event, speed networking, workshop photovoltaic and cultural activities.

For the general public, there will be display of solar systems residential, electric mobility, led lightning solar surveillance cameras solar, heaters water solar panels, pumping water solar, irrigation systems e electric fences solar, besides appliances, such as air conditioning, fans, radios and solar lanterns.

35 countries will be present at ExpoSolar Colombia 2024, being 16 from Latin America and the Caribbean, with the debut of Aruba, Belize and the Republic of South Africa.

Some of the main manufacturers and distributors will be present such as: Huawei, Longi, Jinko, Fronius, JA Solar, Epever, NextCity Labs, AE Solar, Lesso, Ralux, Solis, Deye, Trina Solar, Tai Energy, Peimar, Hexing, Livoltek, Astronergy , Goodwe, Celsia, Promigas, Tronex, Sylvania, Canadian Solar, Meico, Impresistem, Energia y Movilidad, Solaire, Solar Hub Colombia, QN-Solar, Alurack, Gonvarri, Ferregro, Lirvan and Powertek.

ExpoSolar Colombia News for 2024

1. Boosting of energy storage systems;

2. The RECOBAT program, an initiative of TRONEX and the University of Antioquia that is developing the reuse of batteries.

3. An alliance between ExpoSolar Colombia and Vision University of the Americas, which will certify engineers, technologists and technicians, through the program: Highly specialized training in photovoltaic solar energy.

4. The presentation of technologies that streamline installation processes and human resource safety with electric lifts for solar panels.

5. Photovoltaic workshop with guests from 5 countries and 11 projects that will present new technological developments in the solar industry such as twind turbines, solar dehydrators, solar floor, green hydrogen, vehicle charging station, Among others.

6. Electric mobility, with the company AUTECO displaying its complete sustainable mobility fleet, including motorcycles, carros individuals, bus, trucks e tractor trucks.

7. The Casa 5.0, recognized by the United Nations as one of the most sustainable homes in Latin America and the Caribbean, will be on display in the green pavilion as a model of smart construction, equipped with cutting-edge technology in access control, automation, closed-circuit TV, security and surveillance, intrusion system, satellite internet and 100% solar-powered.

8. 35 KW solar farm to generate the energy consumed during the fair days.
