Fronius extends equipment warranty to 10 years

New product applies to inverters of up to 10kW and is part of the celebration of 10 years of Solar Energy in Brazil

One of the biggest concerns for anyone purchasing a photovoltaic system is recognizing a quality product among so many different brands on the market, whether for any of the components, modules, cables, string boxes, but especially for inverters, as they are the component active in the installation and connect to the entire system, having the reading, both on the direct current and alternating current sides.

Therefore, it is essential that, to achieve the life expectancy determined by the manufacturer, the inverter is of high quality.

Logically, problems can arise during operation and, as a result, the installer depends on the manufacturer to correct the occurrence. In this scenario, transparency in the warranty process for equipment is fundamental.

With this in mind, all Fronius photovoltaic inverters have a factory warranty, which can also be extended free of charge, simply by registering the inverter's serial number in the Fronius solar.web portal.

The extended warranty for inverters is granted to equipment that is registered within the factory warranty period, that is, in the first 24 months after purchasing the product. During the registration process, the only data requested are: serial number, installation date and name of the installing company.

It is important not to confuse product registration with installation monitoring, as the inverter does not need to be connected to monitoring to receive the extended warranty.

During the initial warranty period (Plus Warranty) of 24 months, the inverters are covered for repair costs carried out in the field by accredited companies for parts exchange services, technical time and travel within a radius of up to 150 km.

If the inverter is sent to the repair center at Fronius headquarters, in São Bernardo do Campo, the costs of parts, technical time and return shipping to the customer will be covered.

During the Fronius warranty extension period, the cost of replacing the part will be covered, not including the cost of technical time and partner travel, in the case of activation in the field, or return shipping, in the case of shipping to the Fronius repair center.

The big news, however, is that, in line with the 10-year celebration of the Fronius Solar Energy unit in Brazil, the extension period now jumps from two to 10 years of warranty.

The eight-year extension is valid for inverters up to and including 10kW. The remaining inverters include an additional period of five years, totaling seven years of warranty.
