The Federal Government revoked, this Thursday (28), five former tariffs that directly impact the cost of importing HJT technology photovoltaic modules.

The decision is contained in GECEX Resolution No. 782/2025, published in the DOU (Official Gazette of the Union), and establishes that the new measures come into effect 60 days after publication.

In practice, the end of the benefit will come into effect on October 28, 2025, bringing forward the end of the planned validity period, which was December 31, 2025.

The revocation affects photovoltaic modules classified under NCM code 8541.43.00, specifically Ex 154, Ex 996, Ex 997, Ex 998 and Ex 999.

What changes for the market?

With the removal of the ex-tariffs, these equipment no longer benefit from the Import Tax reduction, which could increase the acquisition and installation costs of solar projects that use HJT modules.

Created to encourage competitiveness, ex-tariffs are tax benefits applied to capital and IT goods without equivalent national production.
