After years of accelerated expansion, the solar energy market in Brazil is facing a new type of challenge: how to sustain the profitability of existing models and, at the same time, adapt to new technologies and trends that are beginning to reshape the sector?

On the one hand, investors and companies are dealing with regulatory complexity, economic uncertainty and the pressure to guarantee performance in projects already in operation. On the other hand, new frontiers are emerging, such as energy storage, hybrid plants and the opening of the Free Energy Market.

It was with this transition scenario in mind that Greener decided to hold the Greener Summit 2025, an event that aims to help professionals in the photovoltaic sector navigate this new phase of maturation and transformation.

Is it worth continuing to invest in conventional solar energy models?

This will be one of the questions that promises to be explored at the event. This is because, even with challenges such as high interest rates (with the Selic still at 14,75% per year) and exchange rate fluctuations, Greener believes that there are opportunities for those who know how to assess risks well.

According to the consultancy, the market is showing clear signs of maturity, especially in regulatory, financial and operational matters. In the area of innovation, new possibilities are gaining strength, such as energy storage.

In addition to storage, expectations are growing regarding the full opening of the Free Energy Market. Ordinance No. 50/2022, from the MME, has already allowed the migration of consumers from Group A.

Now, with MP nº 1.300/2025, the expectation is that, by 2027, all consumers will be able to choose their supplier in a free environment.

This opening – which creates a new competitive scenario, with opportunities for models such as subscription energy, hybrid plants, floating plants, in addition to the integration between electric mobility and distributed generation – will also be discussed.

In Greener's understanding, the current moment requires investors, generators, traders and other agents in the sector to rethink their strategies.

“The professionalization of operations will be crucial to attract capital and ensure sustainable returns. At the same time, players who want to remain relevant need to explore new opportunities, investing in innovation, anticipating trends and committing to the energy transition,” the company emphasizes.

What will the event be like?

On the first day, the focus will be on how professionals can increase the profitability of current investments, even in the face of risks and uncertainties.

The event will feature experts and executives who lead successful cases in the sector, such as Roberto Padovani (Chief Economist at Banco BV), Helder Sousa (Director of Regulation at TR Soluções) and José Laydner (Director of Operations at Engie), as well as Marcio Takata and the entire Greener team.

On the second day, the focus turns to the future: storage, flexibility, free market, electric mobility and new consumption vectors such as Green Hydrogen will be the subject of debates with names such as Thiago Prado (President of EPE), Sumara Ticom (ONS), Thiago Hipólito (99) and Raphael Gomes (Lefosse Advogados).

O Greener Summit 2025, takes place on June 24th and 25th, in São Paulo (SP). Find out more by clicking here
