GreenYellow announced that it has signed a contract with three companies in the supermarket sector in the area of energy efficiency. The retail chains in question operate in the states of Minas Gerais, São Paulo, Santa Catarina and Paraná.

The projects fall under the “Utility as a Service” modality, through which the French multinational is responsible for the financial investment, in addition to the acquisition and installation of assets, establishing a broad process of modernization of the clients' lighting equipment.

The company will invest a total of R$ 14.5 million in these businesses, an amount that will be converted into the installation of almost 50 thousand lamps, to be placed in 38 supermarket stores and a distribution center, located in the states of Minas Gerais, São Paulo, Santa Catarina and Paraná.

Although there is no performance guarantee clause linked to the agreements, the GreenYellow team predicts that it will be possible to achieve savings levels ranging from 36% to 63% in the monthly energy consumption of these companies.

To make this result possible, the multinational team carries out an in-depth study of the establishments' current lighting infrastructure to then define the retrofit plan indicated for each reality.

According to Marcelo Xavier, president of GreenYellow, the completion of these contracts contributes to strengthening the company's positioning as an important player in the energy efficiency segment focused on food retail in Brazil.

“The 'as a Service' modality is proving to be the most attractive on the market today. This fact, combined with the organization's financial backing and the team's technical knowledge, contributes to increasing GreenYellow's portfolio of supermarket clients”, stated the executive.

“Energy efficiency is key to the process of smarter consumption. In the context of food retail, for example, this is very evident, as there are a variety of actions that can be taken to reduce energy use, such as in the areas of food refrigeration, air conditioning and lighting. GreenYellow works on all these fronts and has solutions in its portfolio that adapt to each company’s reality”, he concluded.

According to the company, the projects were developed in partnership with Grupo Luminae Energia, the largest company in high-efficiency lighting for retail in Brazil.
