GreenYellow has signed a contract to build a solar roof on an industrial site in Campinas, in the interior of São Paulo, by 2024. The name of the client and the value of the deal were not disclosed.
With a power of almost 4 MW, this will not only be one of the largest solar rooftops in Brazil, but it will also be the largest solar rooftop installed by GreenYellow in the country. The French multinational has seven other plants in this modality installed in the units of the retailer Assaí Atacadista.
According to Marcelo Xavier, president of GreenYellow in Brazil, this is the first contract in the on-site modality for C&I (Commerce and Industries) since 2017, symbolizing the resumption of the company's operations in this market.
“At the beginning of the year, we announced our strategy of returning to the photovoltaic energy generation segment for local self-consumption aimed at the C&I sector. In this context, the development of this project, which involves investment, construction, operation and maintenance of the plant, is very important in order to reiterate our focus on this market share”, said the executive.
Recently, GreenYellow announced a mega contract with the Carrefour Group, in France, to install, by 2027, 350 photovoltaic plants in the solar carport format.
