Grupo Frutas Futuro implanta três usinas fotovoltaicas na Bahia

Grupo Frutas Futuro invested more than R$ 1 million in the implementation of three photovoltaic plants in the state of Bahia. The investment was made possible by BNB (Banco do Nordeste).

The group is made up of the Novo Horizonte, Estrela, Iguaçu, Futuro and Esperança farms, located in the cities of São Félix do Coribe and Santa Maria da Vitória. In addition to the Planalto, Palmeiras and Ipiranga farms located in the city of Eunápolis.

The project has 924 Canadian 365 kW photovoltaic panels and three 75 kW Renovigi inverters. Two inverters were installed in a fixing structure on the roof and another on the ground.

The group spent around R$ 21 thousand per month on electricity. With the installation of the plants, electricity bill expenses fell to approximately R$ 2 thousand, a monthly saving of around R$19 thousand.

João Bayer, businessman and co-owner of the farms, listed the benefits for the group. “First, we have clean energy. Secondly, we feel the difference in our pockets and, after paying it off, we have more than 20 years to enjoy it. It’s an account that closes quickly”, he highlights.

According to Rafael Sant'Ana, director of Seed Engenharia, a Renovigi accredited company in São Félix do Coribe, responsible for the project, the project's three solar plants serve approximately 17 UCs (Consumer Units) of group B (low voltage).

Sant'Ana also states that a new plant will be implemented to meet group A consumption (high and medium voltage), which corresponds to the use of irrigation pumps present on approximately 3 thousand hectares of farms belonging to Grupo Frutas Futuro.
