The Fundação Hospital Centenário de São Leopoldo (FHCSL), located in Rio Grande do Sul, is expected to save R$22 per month in electricity with an energy efficiency project and the installation of a system with 240 photovoltaic panels.
The program, carried out in partnership with RGE, involved an investment of R$614 thousand and also includes the replacement of 2.133 common light bulbs with LEDs, which contributed to generating savings on the energy bill. The system provides for annual production of 120 thousand kWh, the same amount consumed monthly by the institution.
“Since last year, we have been carrying out important works at the hospital, such as renovations to the clinics and improvements in all areas, both internal and external. Energy efficiency complements the entire Centenary qualification process”, said Lilian Silva, president of the foundation.
Last Friday (07), the mayor of São Leopoldo, Ary Vanazzi, visited the facilities, which can now be seen by anyone passing in front of the unit. “This partnership between RGE and public authorities is part of the project to modernize the hospital, use renewable energy, preserve the environment and save money. This is another step in the qualification of the work that is being carried out. In recent years, we have promoted changes in management and this partnership makes us proud”, commented Vanazzi.
Elisandra Castro, business consultant at RGE, also participated in the visit and highlighted the importance of solar energy for the institution. “Due to the good relationship with the city, with the hospital and knowing the difficulties, we chose to invest in an energy efficiency program that will greatly benefit the foundation”, she concluded.
