Huawei Digital Power, a business unit of Huawei, has obtained official validation from the ONS (National Electric System Operator) for the SUN2000-330KTL photovoltaic inverter, at levels N1 and N2, according to the technical criteria established for the SIN (National Interconnected System).

The company highlighted that the approval proves that the model fully meets the requirements for dynamic behavior during electromechanical and electromagnetic disturbances, ensuring the stability and reliability of the operation of grid-connected solar power plants.

Since 2023, the ONS (National System Operator) has been expanding the validation requirements for inverter and controller models in photovoltaic plants, in response to the growing share of renewable sources in the electricity matrix and the need for greater operational predictability.

According to Huawei, the N1 and N2 level certifications ensure that the computational models used in simulations accurately represent the real-world behavior of equipment during transients and network events, directly contributing to the robustness and resilience of the national electrical system.

“Full compliance with ONS standards reflects Huawei’s commitment to system stability and the technical development of the Brazilian electricity sector,” emphasized Dr. Roberto Valer, CTO of Huawei Digital Power.

"More than a validation, this is a practical demonstration of how technology, engineering, and institutional collaboration can raise the reliability standard of large-scale solar power generation in the country," he added.

According to the company, the validation was the result of a rigorous technical process, developed in conjunction with specialized consulting firms in the modeling and simulation of electrical systems, and collaboratively monitored by the ONS (National System Operator).

Furthermore, Huawei reported that the work followed the highest engineering and analysis standards with the goal of ensuring that each piece of equipment operates with predictable performance and stability even in the face of network disruptions.

“Huawei values the technical and collaborative approach of ONS, which has been consolidating benchmarks of excellence for the safe integration of renewable energy sources into the national electricity grid,” added Valer.

The SUN2000-330KTL is a high-efficiency three-phase inverter designed for large-scale photovoltaic plants. According to Huawei, its modular architecture and digital intelligence enable optimized operation and advanced features such as LVRT (Low Voltage Ride-Through), reactive power support, and compatibility with real-time monitoring systems.

"These features ensure greater network stability, operational safety, and ease of maintenance — attributes that make the model a benchmark in reliability for high-power applications," the company stated.

With approximately 5 GW of this model sold in Brazil, Huawei reinforces its leading position, being the technological solution chosen for the most relevant centralized solar generation projects in the first half of 2025.

“The full validation by ONS reaffirms Huawei Digital Power’s commitment to the sustainable development of Brazil and to the safe integration of renewable technologies into the electrical infrastructure, strengthening the reliability and modernization of the SIN through innovation, research and technical collaboration — pillars of a cleaner, more digital and resilient energy matrix,” the manufacturer added.
