A implementation of solar plants for electrical energy generation in real estate responsibility of the Public Power it has been each time most frequent in state and municipal administrations from different regions of Brazil.

According to data from ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency), more than 22.7 MW of power were installed in the first half of the year alone - one high of 30% in comparison with the 16.1 MW registered in same period of 2021.

In Pernambuco, for example, the State Government launched, less than a month ago, through the PPPE (Strategic Partnership Program), a bidding notice for the construction, operation and maintenance of a new solar generation plant.

In the south of the country, the Porto Alegre (RS) City Council analyzes a Bill which requires the installation of solar panels in public buildings in the city. The proposal is in the process of being processed in the House, having been opened on June 16, 2021.

The City Council of São José do Rio Preto (SP), in turn, already has a project with these characteristics approved. In the locality, the installation of Solar energy in public buildings is a mandatory item on the part of the municipal government.

More indicators

Among Brazilian states, ANEEL data indicated that Minas Gerais is the region that, to date, most uses solar energy in public properties, with 13.2 MW of power and 484 photovoltaic systems installed since the beginning of data accounting. of the Agency, in 2012.

Among municipalities, the highlight is the Boa Vista City Hall (RR), which has been investing in solar sources since 2017.  Each year, the administration saves around R$ 5 million with investments in the Municipal Theater, the Luiz Canuto Chaves Mini Terminal, the São Francisco Municipal Market and the Public Services Secretariat parking lot.

In addition to providing relief for the budget, the installation of photovoltaic systems in Government properties also guarantees other benefits for states and municipalities, such as greater cost predictability, better economic development and the promotion of more jobs and income for the population.
