Intersolar South America starts tomorrow in São Paulo (SP)

Intersolar South America starts tomorrow in São Paulo (SP)

Intersolar South America 2024, which will be held at Expo Center Norte, in the city of São Paulo (SP), starts tomorrow (26) with several innovations in solar energy, storage, H2V (green hydrogen) and electric mobility.

The event will feature conferences and will bring together public authorities, entities, businesspeople and international experts to discuss the advancement of solar energy in Brazil and around the world.

In total, the fair is expected to attract more than 600 exhibitors – between manufacturers and distributors – and approximately 55 thousand visitors over the three days.

Check out the conference schedule below:

First day 

10am to 12pm: “Intersolar Conference Opening Ceremony” on the 2nd floor, room Cantareira 3-5. The official opening of the congress will feature a welcome speech and lectures: “Opportunities and Challenges for Photovoltaic Solar Energy in Brazil”, “What to do with falling prices, new business models and the German experience with the 'mountain -russa solar'” and “Solar PV and Storage Highlights in the US”.

Opening lectures: Florian Wessendorf, CEO of Solar Promotion International GmbH; Camila Ramos, CEO of CELA; Celso LP Mendes, consultant at Aranda Editora; Ronaldo Koloszuk, chairman of the Board of Directors of ABSOLAR; Rodrigo Sauaia, CEO of ABSOLAR; David Wedepohl, Director General of International Affairs of the German Solar Association and BSW Solar eV; and Abigail Ross Hopper, President and CEO of the Solar Energy Industries Association.

14pm to 15:30pm: “Overview of the Brazilian electricity sector” on the 2nd floor, Cantareira room 3-5 with the themes “Perspectives of ANEEL for Solar Energy”; “The Planning and Perspectives of the Brazilian Electric Matrix”; and “Solar, batteries and the transition of the energy market in Brazil” with Rodrigo Sauaia; in addition to Roney Nakano Vitorino, Energy Research analyst at EPE; and Vinicius Nunes, Climate Solutions associate at BloombergNEF.

16pm to 17:30pm: “How solar energy can help achieve social environmental, governance and sustainable development goals for 2030” on the 2nd floor, room Cantareira 3-5. The topics will be covered: “Solar Energy for sustainable development of communities”, “Social solar in generation”, “Solidarity Solar Energy”; “Practical cases of impacts on ESG and SDGs”; “Sun for everyone”; and “Energy Equity: Promoting Women’s Participation in Solar Technology.”

Eduardo Ávila, coordinator of the ABSOLAR and executive director of Revolusolar; Graziella Albuquerque, coordinator of Institutional and Government Relations at Revolusolar; Michel Sednaou, CEO of Plexo Solar; Hamilton Mendes Rocha, executive coordinator of the São Paulo Network of Community Banks Association; Camila Hammes, project manager at the Um Litro de Luz Brasil Association; and Renata Mansuelo, coordinator of the promote nucleus of the MESol Network.

17:30 pm to 20 pm: Side event “Intersolar South America networking cocktail” on the 2nd floor, room Cantareira 7.

Second day 

On the second day of Intersolar there will be several parallel lectures. Check the schedule:

9am to 10:30am: “Doing business in solar PV distributed generation” on the 2nd floor, room Cantareira 4-5.

9am to 10:30am: “New strategies for a transforming electricity sector” on the 2nd floor, room Cantareira 3.

11am to 12:30pm: “Self-production (consumers who use the solar source in their facilities)” on the 2nd floor, room Cantareira 3.

11am to 12:30pm: “Regulation and market perspectives for distributed generation of photovoltaic solar energy” on the 2nd floor, room Cantareira 4-5.

14pm to 15:30pm: “Large-scale solar generation in conjunction with other technologies” on the 2nd floor, room Cantareira 3.

14pm to 15:30pm: “Photovoltaic solutions for agribusiness” on the 2nd floor, room Cantareira 4-5.

16pm to 17:30pm: “Opportunities for solar energy companies in the renewable hydrogen economy” on the 2nd floor, room Cantareira 3.

16pm to 17:30pm: “New trends in the photovoltaic market (floating PV & Solar energy + storage)” on the 2nd floor, Sala Cantareira 4-5.

Third day 

9am to 10:30am: “Best practices: Quality, safety, training and standards in photovoltaics” on the 2nd floor, Sala Cantareira 4-5.

11am to 12:30pm: “Logistics chain: Challenges and opportunities” on the 2nd floor, Sala Cantareira 4-5.

14pm to 15:30pm: “Applications for construction, operation, maintenance, monitoring and artificial intelligence” on the 2nd floor, room Cantareira 4-5.

16pm to 17:30pm: “Recycling: Strengthening the circular economy in the photovoltaic sector” on the 2nd floor, room Cantareira 4-5.
