Chinese manufacturers Jinko Solar and Tongwei announced that they will work together to establish 15 GW of wafer manufacturing capacity and 45 thousand metric tons of polysilicon production.

Jinko will have a 35% equity stake in the polysilicon factory by Tongwei, ensuring more supplies for its expansion.

Tongwei will invest 30% of the cost in Jinko's planned wafer plant, securing a total of 6.5 GW of mono-wafer products over a three-year period (2021-2023) for its commercial solar cell business.

Other partnerships

In addition to the partnership with Tongwei, Jinko Solar has worked with Shanghai Electric, and other domestic EPCs and design institutes, to jointly develop a series of solutions.

Among them, the “Jinko Solar Tiger Pro Module System Design Application and Economic Feasibility Study Report” – which consists of a calculation of 182mm module design schemes by various system equipment suppliers in application scenarios specific.

According to Jinko, the report provides the owner, EPC and customers with a reference for the total cost and LCOE (levelized cost of energy).

Furthermore, the manufacturer also combined the specifications for photovoltaic power system efficiency in China with the country's unlimited DC/AC ratio policies, conducting an analysis of projects that use Tiger Pro modules to formulate the “DC/AC Ratio Scheme ideal for China PV Projects.”

“The company will continue to optimize manufacturing processes as well as carry out technological innovation, and will also expand customer value-added service systems to lead the technological development of the photovoltaic industry. We will continue to provide extremely reliable modules and quality services to bring greater value to our end customers,” Jinko said in a statement.
