Light Energia, a company that operates in an integrated manner in the Brazilian electricity sector, in the segments of generation, transmission, distribution and commercialization of energy, received approval from Cade (Administrative Council for Economic Defense) to acquire Tempo Comercializadora Varejista de Energia.

According to the antitrust agency, the transaction does not create market concentration nor raise competition concerns. The value of the deal was not disclosed.

The acquired company is a limited liability company with no active operations, but it holds authorization to operate as a retail energy trading company, a segment focused on managing small consumers in the free market.

For Light, the acquisition represents an opportunity to increase operational efficiency and strengthen its competitiveness in the electricity sector. For the seller, the transaction is seen as a way to optimize its corporate structure, in line with objectives of greater operational efficiency and resource rationalization.
