A CCEE (Electricity Trading Chamber), the ONS (National Electric Sector Operator) and the EPE (Energy Research Company) released, this Thursday (1st), the results of the 2nd Quarterly Review of Load Forecasts for Annual Energy Operation Planning – 2024-2028.
O calculation takes into account a economic growth rate of 2,2% in 2024, due to Brazilian growth in the first quarter (2,5%), above expectations at the time of 1st Quarterly Review.
“Added to this factor is a scenario of improvement in the job market and the maintenance of family consumption levels, and on the other hand, interest rates can limit the expansion of the economy”, highlights the document.
For 2024, the expected increase in load is 4,0%, reaching an average value of 78.978 MW. To the highest elevations should occur in the regions North (7,2%) and Northeast (4,7%), followed by the South (4,6%) and Southeast/Central-West (3,2%) submarkets.
For the 2024-2028 horizon, the forecast is for average annual growth of 3,4%, reaching:
- 80.936 average MW in 2025;
- 83.619 average MW in 2026;
- 86.116 average MW in 2027;
- 89.754 average MW in 2028.
