Mato Grosso do Sul gains 1st charging station for electric vehicles

Project is a partnership between the State government, UFMS and the private sector

It was opened this Monday (24) the first electric station for supplying vehicles and electric bicycles in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul.

The project, the result of a partnership between the Detran-MS and the private sector, will work in UFMS campus (Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul), in Campo Grande. According to the government, by the end of March, 271 hybrid vehicles had been registered in MS.

The unit built at UFMS, close to the campus swimming pool complex, uses photovoltaic solar energy and is also connected to the distribution network of the electricity concessionaire that serves the State. The nominal power is 95 kW, allowing quick recharging.

The project coordinated by the teacher Ruben Barros Godoy It has the participation of professors, technicians, professionals and undergraduate and postgraduate students in electrical engineering.
