MME approves budget of R$ 2.5 billion for the Luz Para Todos Program in 2024

O MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy) approvedThis week, the 2024 budget of Light for All Program, which aims universalize the access to electrical energy across the country with the help of renewable energy, such as solar and wind. 

Next year, about R$ 2.5 billion will be allocated to the program, which has expected to benefit more of 500 thousand families, including the rural population, especially in the North of the country, and in remote regions of the Legal Amazon.

Since the beginning of the program, in 2003, more than 3.6 million homes who did not have access to electricity in their homes have benefited, according to the Federal Government.

O 2024 budget was the subject of Public Consultation No. 154/2023, promoted by the MME with the electricity sector and Brazilian society, and received 23 contributions. You approved values will be passed on from the CDE (Energy Development Account).

The CDE budget will be consolidated by the CCEE (Electric Energy Trading Chamber) and approved by ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency). By the end of 2024, another 22 new contracts must be signed to implement the Program in different regions of the country.
