The MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy) has extended the deadline for agents to submit to the EPE (Energy Research Company) the technical parameters necessary for preparing the 2025 SISOL (Isolated Systems) Auction.
The new deadline for sending information is May 30, until 12 pm, as established by Ordinance No. 104/2025, published in the Official Gazette of the Union this Thursday (27).
The required data include the values relating to the cost of fuel and the variable portion of the operation and maintenance (O&M) cost, as provided for in article 10 of MME Normative Ordinance No. 99/2025.
The new document amends the Normative Ordinance GM/MME No. 92/2024, which defines the guidelines for carrying out the auction for the acquisition of energy and electrical power, in addition to the execution of other actions aimed at Guaranteeing the Electric Energy Supply in SISOL.
According to the MME, the extension of the deadline aims to allow agents to present more up-to-date data, which can contribute to the formulation of more precise and competitive proposals.
O SISOL 2025 Auction It is scheduled to take place in September and aims to contract energy and electrical power to guarantee supply in regions that are not connected to the SIN (National Interconnected System).
What are isolated systems?
Isolated Systems are regions of Brazil that are not connected to the National Interconnected System. In these areas — generally located in the North, such as parts of Amazonas, Acre, Roraima and Amapá — electricity generation is done locally, often through diesel-fired thermoelectric plants.
Due to their high generation costs and logistical challenges, these systems are served by specific auctions promoted by the federal government, with the aim of guaranteeing the supply of energy in a continuous, safe and, increasingly, sustainable manner.
