The minister of Mines and Energy, Alexandre Silveira, told journalists last Friday (26) that he sent the Civil House The Provisional Measure which allows the use of resources from Eletrobras funds to minimize tariff impacts.
Silveira informed that the MP is not restricted to a specific case, but above all it proposes to reduce the impact of the readjustment of 44% that the ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) initially established for tariffs in the state of Amapá. The agency later reduced the impact to 34%.
In the minister's words, this is a “commitment from the government to the people of Amapá”, as “it was unacceptable to receive an increase of 44% for a state with still precarious conditions”.

Silveira said that the MP was not published due to “bureaucratic issues”, legal analyses, techniques and formal adjustments. “But I believe that before Congress votes, this MP will be submitted.” Congress returns next Monday, February 5th.
The resources to which the minister refers originate in the process of privatization of Eletrobras. On that occasion, the company made a commitment to allocate part of the resources raised with the change in the commercial model for selling energy, technically known as discounting of plants, to deduct the costs of the Energy Development Account (CDE), a fund that accommodates the majority of charges in the electricity sector.
