Arena MRV, home of Atlético Mineiro, has obtained the renewable energy certificate from Cemig (Minas Gerais Energy Company) for another year, proving that all energy consumed in the stadium in 2024 – equivalent to 3.447.715 kWh – came from clean sources, with no greenhouse gas emissions.

According to the club, the use of these sources has already prevented the emission of approximately 190 tons of CO₂ into the atmosphere during this period. The certification obtained is part of a set of environmental initiatives that have been implemented at the site since its inauguration.

The stadium operates in the Free Energy Market, acquiring electricity from other renewable sources. In addition to low-impact electricity, the Arena also adopts measures such as conscious use of water, waste management and preservation of green areas.

The continuity of these actions places the stadium among the Brazilian sports enterprises that seek to align operations and sustainability.

About MRV Arena

Opened in April 2023, in the Califórnia neighborhood, in Belo Horizonte (MG), Arena MRV was designed to be one of the most modern in Latin America, with capacity for around 46 thousand fans and international standard infrastructure.

In addition to Atlético Mineiro football matches, the space is also prepared to host events, including concerts.

Construction officially began in 2020, after years of planning, and was financed through private partners, naming rights and club initiatives. The arena bears the name of the construction company MRV, partner and sponsor of the project.
