National electricity consumption reached an average of 70.415 MW in October, a decrease of 1,7% compared to the same month last year. According to CCEE (Chamber of Electric Energy Commercialization), the decline was mainly influenced by the milder temperatures recorded in 2025.
In the regulated market, where residential units are concentrated, consumption totaled an average of 40.192 MW, a decrease of 1,9% compared to the previous year. In the free market, predominantly industrial, demand closed at an average of 30.223 MW, a decrease of 1,4%.
Among the 15 economic sectors monitored by CCEE, Vehicles (-9,9%), Telecommunications (-7,6%) and Services (-7,2%) registered the largest declines. Conversely, Extraction of Metallic Minerals (+7,5%), Sanitation (+2,2%) and Miscellaneous Manufactured Goods (+1,0%) showed the best performances.
In the state-level breakdown, 20 states experienced a reduction in consumption. Rondônia (-9,4%), Mato Grosso do Sul (-8,6%), and Rio de Janeiro (-8,2%) led the declines. Among the increases, Acre (+6,4%), Pará (+5,8%), and Maranhão (+4,7%) stand out.
Pará, which hosted the COP30 The climate conference in Belém recorded an average of 3.439 MW in October. This volume reflects both local economic activity and the mobilizations prior to the climate event organized by the United Nations, held in the first weeks of November.
