O St. Vincent de Paul Asylum, located in Criciúma (SC), received the installation of a 31,05 kWp solar energy system, consisting of 54 575 Wp photovoltaic modules and a 50 kW inverter.
The implementation is part of the 'Energy Efficiency' project of ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency), developed in partnership with Celesc (Santa Catarina Electric Power Plants) and the Government of Santa Catarina.
In addition to the photovoltaic system, 116 fluorescent lamps were also replaced with LED models, ten old air conditioning units with inverter models and 12 electric showers with a solar water heating system were also replaced at the charity property.
Since the nursing home is a non-profit charity, the funds invested do not need to be returned. Therefore, all the investment will be used to benefit the charity, reducing the nursing home's energy consumption.
In total, the investment of R$701 thousand should generate annual savings of 87,76 MWh for the nursing home, which represents a reduction of R$52 thousand per year in electricity costs.
Founded in 1949, the São Vicente de Paulo Asylum serves around 70 elderly people in Criciúma (SC). The social work is carried out by a multidisciplinary team, complying with current standards, rules and legislation.
Energy Efficiency Program
The PEE (Energy Efficiency Program) of ANEEL aims to promote the efficient use of electrical energy, reducing waste and involving the installation of clean energy projects to optimize energy consumption in different sectors.
Open to a variety of entities, including electric utilities and energy conservation companies, the initiative has a selection and evaluation process for projects that are chosen by the Agency based on their effectiveness and impact on energy efficiency.
