A ICLEI South America and the ABSOLAR (Brazilian Photovoltaic Solar Energy Association) released a call for the launch of a partnership that aims to enable energy transition in Brazilian cities through the use of photovoltaic technology.
Through technical support, local governments will be guided by entities to develop financially viable projects, aiming to raise funds through sponsors for the implementation of solar systems.
The call for sponsorship is part of the first phase of the program and is open to interested companies until June 12th. The call provides two quota values: R$ 20 thousand or R$ 60 thousand.
In exchange for the resources, sponsors will have their brands publicized alongside the program's promotional actions, which can integrate other sustainability initiatives.
After the deadline for the call for sponsors has ended, the Notice will be opened to choose the cities included in the “Energy Transition Program in Cities: Solar Public Buildings”.
The selected local governments will have the chance to exchange experiences and take advantage of the methodology for developing technically robust and financeable projects, enabling them to apply them to the local reality and obtain financing for their photovoltaic solar energy projects.
In this phase, technical teams from ICLEI, ABSOLAR and strategic partners will provide content to facilitate interactions and support up to 10 selected municipalities bilaterally.
The program will last six months and should be implemented from July onwards. The announcement of the partnership signed between ICLEI and ABSOLAR took place via live broadcast, on April 13, on the ICLEI South America Channel on YouTube.
