Confident about the growing expansion of solar energy in Brazil and the high potential of this market, companies from different photovoltaic segments should continue investing heavily in the sector in 2021.

Last year, while most economic sectors encountered difficulties due to the pandemic, solar energy attracted more than R$13 billion in investments – a increase of 52% compared to the values accumulated until 2012, according to data from ABSOLAR (Brazilian Photovoltaic Solar Energy Association).

Equipment distributor Aldo Solar, which had revenues of more than R$1,6 billion last year, now estimates more than R$4,5 billion in private investments among its 13 thousand resellers spread throughout Brazil.

“Our goal is to grow 100%. We hope to supply more than 1 GW of power, with more than 100 thousand solar energy generators sold throughout Brazil”, highlighted Aldo Pereira Teixeira, founder and president of the company.

Also promising to contribute to the sector in 2021 is Tecnova Renováveis, a company from Rio Grande do Sul specialized in the construction of photovoltaic plants.  The construction company reported that more than R$100 million will be invested by its customers in energy generation, transmission and distribution projects throughout Brazil. With the works that are already contracted, the company will increase its installed capacity by up to five times by the end of December, jumping from 10 to 50 MW.

The integrator from Paraná, Domínio Solar, set a target for revenue of R$44 million for this year. According to the company, there are investment projects in the marketing and the team of engineers and installers, in addition to the launch of solar plants on lease. For now, the project does not have a launch date, as negotiations are ongoing.

“Solar energy is a solution with great potential, mainly because we are in a country with a lot of sunlight. The fact is that there is still a lot to be explored and, most importantly, it is clean and renewable energy”, said César Augusto, executive director of the renewable energy solutions integrator.

In total, Domínio Solar generated 8,66 GWh of renewable energy in 2020 and recorded a 73% increase in customers compared to the previous year. “The pandemic crisis showed many people and companies the importance of reducing their costs, which also contributed to the increase in demand for our projects in 2020”, highlighted César Augusto.
