O senator Carlos Fávaro (PSD-MT) will be the rapporteur responsible by the study and presentation, in Plenary, of PL 2703/22 – which foresees extending the deadline for the entry of the new energy compensation rules defined in Law 18 to 14.300 months.
Last Tuesday (6), the project was approved in the Chamber of Deputies with 260 votes in favor and 83 against. If also approved by the Senate, the text will be forwarded to presidential sanction.
This Monday (12), inclusive, the proposal was placed on the agenda for voting this Wednesday (14), giving indications that the text may be voted on. Check the Agenda, clicking here.

The placement of the matter on the voting agenda was assured by the president of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), following a request made by Fávaro (PSD-MT).
“I made the request to President Rodrigo Pacheco and he, always willing to listen to society's demands, understood the importance of the project, especially because it generates clean and renewable energy, and committed to working for the PL vote”, highlighted Fávaro.
It is worth remembering that PL 2703 has until December 22nd to be voted on in the Senate, due to the recess period of Brazilian parliamentarians.
Bill 2703
The project was born in July this year at the Consumer Protection Committee of the Chamber of Deputies, by deputy Celso Russomanno (Republicanos-SP).
The document was prepared with the contribution of micro and mini generators, who filed complaints against the service provided by energy distributors to solar energy consumers.
According to the document, consumers would have been harmed during 2022 with a series of barriers imposed by distributors for the installation of photovoltaic systems.
The document also states that, because of this, these companies would not be complying with the current law on the grounds of lack of regulation by ANEEL.
