Os first 50 diagnoses of energy efficiency carried out by PotencializEE Program in industrial SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) in the state of São Paulo have energy saving potential of approximately 200 GWh.
This number represents 27% of the total project savings target by 2024, of 7.267 GWh – which is equivalent to the annual consumption of the entire Federal District. Such diagnoses also point to a potential emission reduction of 42.695 tCO² into the atmosphere.
“In the diagnosis stage, specialists from the SENAI-SP, technical partner of the program, carry out a detailed study of the industry's facilities and identify opportunities for efficiency, that is, what measures could be taken to reduce the energy consumption of that plant”, they explained.
They range from actions such as identifying small air leaks, for example, which end up wasting energy or even recovering residual heat, using solar thermal energy, as well as exchanging boilers, engines and others for equipment that consumes less of this. input depending on each case.
Hausthene Poliuretanos is one of the 50 industries that has already completed the diagnostic stage of the PotencializEE program. In this case, it was found that, with a series of adaptations to the lighting, compressed air system and replacement of thermal insulation, the industry will have annual savings of R$ 156 thousand. In just 3,73 years, the estimated total contribution of R$583 thousand would be fully paid.
“We were very pleased with the results of this diagnostic stage. We already had the perception that it was possible to reduce energy consumption, but it was with the PotencializEE Program that we obtained all the technical support necessary to see these savings transformed into numbers”, said Paulo Tezza, general director of Hausthene.
The Program aims to serve 1 companies by 2024 with diagnostics and implement 425 energy efficiency projects. The forecast is for more than 150 hours of work by SENAI-SP specialists in each company that intends to carry out an energy efficiency project.
How to participate in PotencializEE
Started in 2021, PotencializEE has 867 small and medium-sized industries in the state of São Paulo registered so far. To participate, you must register on the program website to receive a free pre-diagnosis.
During this pre-diagnosis, the program gets in touch to schedule a visit from a SENAI specialist, who will carry out a preliminary survey of the structural situation, with basic recommendations for improvements.
If significant potential for energy savings is identified, the next step is to contract a deeper subsidized diagnosis for the development of an energy efficiency project and, finally, implementation. This last step is optional, and it is up to the company to implement it or not.
If you choose to implement, PotencializEE has financial partners that facilitate the provision of credit and financing for these energy efficiency projects, as well as a database with accredited suppliers to facilitate the acquisition and implementation of the project.
