Registration to participate in the Start-Up Challenge, a challenge promoted by the Iberdrola Group, were extended until November 24th. The objective of the dispute is to look for startups that can reduce non-technical losses in the electrical system.

The challenge is being carried out in partnership with the corporate innovation company The Bakery and addresses a problem that has affected the entire electricity sector, especially in Brazil, where its subsidiary Neoenergia operates.

“We are constantly approaching startups and technology-based companies that can bring solutions to Iberdrola and Neoenergia’s businesses. With the Start-up Challenge, we facilitate the validation of new technologies in an agile way, contributing to innovation in the electricity sector”, says Bruno Melchior, Innovation Manager at Neoenergia.

According to the organizers, one of the differences of the Start-up Challenge is that the winner will be able to carry out tests and implement the solution in any of the Iberdrola companies, with the opportunity to receive investment through PERSEO (International Start-up Program).

Furthermore, the challenge provides the possibility of being included directly in the process of joining the new smart grids innovation center, the Global Smart Grids Innovation Hub, located in Spain.

The prize will be the signing of a collaboration and testing agreement with the PERSEO program or any other company in the Iberdrola group, which will offer payment of expenses and technical support.

Furthermore, a real environment and data will also be made available to test the solution, with access to equipment, teams, infrastructure, high-tech locations and joint work areas.

Entries can be submitted on the challenge website, the winners are expected to be announced in December. If you have any questions, please contact us via email: [email protected].
