A PL (bill) is being analyzed by the CLDF (Legislative Chamber of the Federal District) that seeks to compulsorily include photovoltaic energy systems in new public school projects.

The bill presented by deputy Pastor Daniel de Castro (PP) aims to promote sustainability and reduce electricity costs in educational institutions.

According to the proposed text, solar energy systems will generate energy autonomy in addition to reducing CO2 emissions.

“The use of solar energy also provides energy autonomy, reducing dependence on non-renewable sources and mitigating the environmental impacts associated with these sources. Furthermore, the implementation of these systems can stimulate the creation of jobs in the area of renewable energy and encourage research and technological development”, said the deputy.

Installation costs will be the responsibility of whoever will carry out the project. Resources may be sought in programs to promote renewable energy. Unit managers will be able to sign agreements with companies in the sector for the installation and maintenance of these systems.
