With the arrival of new data center companies in Brazil, manufacturers and developers of energy storage technologies have intensified their efforts to meet the growing demand for security, autonomy, and sustainability in operations.
This movement has spurred the development of new battery solutions aimed at large databases and critical infrastructure. In the first half of 2025 alone, the MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy) registered more than 50 requests for access to the SIN (National Interconnected System) network, a jump of 330% in just one year.
If all these projects receive a favorable opinion from the ONS (National Electric System Operator), the accumulated demand could exceed 13 GW by 2035, with the expectation that data centers will be supplied mainly by renewable sources.
Last week, São Paulo (SP) hosted DCD Connect 2025, one of the largest events in the sector in the country, bringing together hundreds of companies and experts in digital infrastructure and energy.
O Canal Solar highlights the technologies presented by Powersafe, which showcased its complete portfolio of pure lead-acid batteries, geared towards critical applications such as large databases and AI (Artificial Intelligence) systems.
The company emphasized that it intends to expand its presence in the segment in the coming years with high-performance, long-life solutions capable of reducing operating costs by up to 50% compared to conventional models.
Recently, Powersafe was responsible for the supply, installation, and commissioning of more than four thousand batteries. Getpower, made of pure lead and high technology, in a large Brazilian data center.
According to the company, the project resulted in over 50% performance gains and a 75% reduction in investment compared to the previous technology.
The company also presented new systems at the event. UPS Focused on critical and energy-intensive markets, such as data centers, industries, and large commercial establishments; in addition to technical outsourcing services, preventive maintenance, assistance, and retrofitting of electrical systems.
“Our presence at DCD Connect 2025 reflects our role as a strategic ally in digital transformation, mission-critical solutions, and the energy transition. Competitive electricity is at the heart of digital infrastructure, and our purpose is to ensure that it is safe, efficient, and sustainable,” stated Leandro Alvares, Operations Director at Powersafe.
