Raízen targets 17.23 MW in PV plants in the state of MG by April

Company connected new solar plant in Vazante and increased renewable capacity

A Raízen, an integrated energy company, announced this Wednesday (14) that will increase 72.3% of its renewable capacity in Minas Gerais until April 2023.

A company, which until November last year had around 10 MW in photovoltaic distributed generation in the state, enough to supply a city like Extrema (MG), with 36 thousand inhabitants, has just connected a new plant in the city of Vazante, adding another 2 MW to the grid.

Over the next two months, Raízen will connect two more photovoltaic systems in Varjão de Minas and install another 4.88 MW, reaching a power of 17.23 MW.

The company's other plants in the state, located in the municipalities of Capitão Enéas and Bocaiúva, serve more than 400 consumer units in the region, including gym chains, fashion retailers, among others.

“One of Raízen’s biggest differentiators in the energy area is that it is one of the only companies that has an offer in more than one region, with plants with space for customers to enter immediately and plants under construction that will be connected in 2023”, he commented. Frederico Saliba, VP of Energy and Renewables at Raízen.

“In addition, our solution offers the biggest savings in Minas Gerais, compared to other companies in the state. Our DG projects generate savings from 20% in tariffs, reaching up to 36% when we are experiencing water scarcity, all without any loyalty”, he added.

“Raízen plays an important role in the decarbonization of the country, presenting more sustainable solutions for customers looking for an increasingly clean and efficient matrix, stimulating the competitiveness of the sector”, concluded Saliba.

Other aspects of Raízen

The company is also an energy one-stop-shop, with a portfolio of products available to customers in Minas Gerais, such as migration to the free market, commercialization of international renewable energy certificates (I-RECs), charging stations for electric vehicles (Shell Recharge and Tupinambá).

Furthermore, through the companies invested in together with the Gera Group, which also operates in the energy sector, it offers home solar energy solutions (Holu), refrigeration management (Diel) and energy efficiency for condominiums (Tyr).
