Camex (Foreign Trade Chamber), an agency linked to the Ministry of Economy, published this Tuesday (31), in the DOU (Official Gazette of the Union), Resolution GECEX No. 871/2026, which deals with the granting of requests for renewal of ex-tariffs for various equipment, including photovoltaic inverters, whose requests were submitted from July 2025 onwards.
The measure approved the renewal of 62 tariff exemptions classified under NCM 8504.40.90, with 58 relating to string-type inverters, valid until December 31, 2026, and only four hybrid models, valid until December 31, 2027.
One important point noted in the new update is the absence of microinverters and off-grid technologies, which have been gaining ground in different markets, especially in residential applications and in systems with greater installation flexibility.
Exemptions from tariffs are mechanisms that allow for the temporary reduction of import taxes on equipment without equivalent domestic production, contributing to the competitiveness of the sector.
