The research company Wood Mackenzie released on 25/07/2019 its semi-annual report containing analyzes of the global renewable energy market.
The report points out that 2019 is on track to break the record for the year with the greatest expansion in installed power in photovoltaic energy. An increase of 114,5 GW in global photovoltaic energy generation capacity is predicted, representing an increase of 17,5% compared to 2018. If this number is confirmed, the planet will have 653 GW by the end of the year.
The data collected shows that the global market is diversifying, increasing the number of countries receiving large projects.

The report also points to the significant increase in installed power in Brazil. The last A-4 renewable energy auction, which took place in June this year, contracted 203,7 MW from photovoltaic solar sources. The auction also broke the record for the lowest price ever offered for energy by this type of project – R$64,91 MWh. The price was offered by the company Enerlife/Lightsources BP, which won the concession to build 202 MW of power divided into 5 plants in the Milagres project, located in Ceará. The previous record belonged to Mexico, in the Pachamama project, where the price offered was RS7,62 higher.
