A SolarEdge announced the launch in Brazil of SolarEdge Home, a portfolio of home energy management products, which features Home Hub and Home Wave inverters, power optimizer, battery, backup interface, charger for EVs (electric vehicles) and intelligent operating system.

According to the manufacturer, the solution allows home owners increase savings and energy sufficiency through the optimization of production, consumption and storage of solar energy.

“One of the main reasons for using photovoltaic energy in homes is to reduce electricity costs, which can lead to a 90% drop in electricity bills”, says Juliano Pereira, country manager at SolarEdge in Brazil,

“We believe smart energy management is critical as electricity costs and consumption continue to rise. Innovative solutions that can synchronize multiple energy sources, consumer loads and battery storage are crucial to achieving independence and sustainability in the future”, he highlighted.

Designed to capture more solar energy with power optimizer technology (Coupled Direct Current), the solution stores more energy in the battery to power the home and provides backup during outages.

Managed by the mySolarEdge app, homeowners can manage and track photovoltaic energy usage, electricity savings and carbon emissions reduction in their homes.

SolarEdge Home Battery

Available in single-phase applications, the SolarEdge Home battery with a power of 5 kW and useful energy of 9.7kWh can be connected with up to three batteries per inverter, delivering energy of up to 29.1kWh to the home, in addition to allowing synchronization with SolarEdge inverters additional devices and other residential devices in the ecosystem.

According to the company, the design of the battery connected together with the photovoltaic modules (DC Coupled) requires only one energy conversion in the storage and use process.

Furthermore, oversizing of up to 200% reduces clipping losses, further increasing system efficiency, compared to microinvestor technology that requires three conversions as the battery is coupled to alternating current and does not allow clipping losses to be reduced.

SolarEdge operates with two types of solutions compatible with batteries, the Home Wave for applications to improve self-consumption and the Home Hub for applications focused on backup.

For installers, the SolarEdge Home portfolio is designed to simplify installation from design to commissioning, as well as enabling reduced installation time thanks to plug-and-play wireless connectivity.
