A ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) updated the report with the potential migration of consumers to the Free Contracting Environment (ACL), with a base date of June 30th. In total, 27.162 consumer units have already informed distributors that will leave the market captive between 2024 and 2025.
Around 95% of these units (25.867) are consumers classified as retailers, benefiting from Ordinance 50/2022, which, as of January 1st of this year, opened Mercado Livre to all customers connected to high voltage (Group A).
According to the report, distributors CPFL Paulista (3.241), Copel D (2.705), Enel SP (2.328), Celesc (1.800) and RGE (1.793) concentrate the largest number of retail consumers, leaving the market captive.
The average demand of retail consumers is 144 kW.
Big consumers
The pace of migration among large energy consumers, with demand above 500 kW, also continues to grow.
According to the report updated on June 30, 1.297 units will leave the captive market by 2025. The average demand of these consumers is 1.446 kW.
The dealerships Enel SP (140 UG), Copel D (135), Celesc D (109), CPFL Paulista (91) and Energisa Mato Grosso (68) lead the migration ranking among large consumers.
According to data from ABRACEEL (Brazilian Association of Electric Energy Traders), Group A has around 202 thousand consumer units, of which more than 48 thousand have already migrated to Mercado Livre.
“In the free energy market, the residential or business consumer, the larger or smaller consumer, without distinction, now has access to lower prices, better services, innovation, efficiency and sustainability”, said, in a note, Rodrigo Ferreira , executive president of HUG.
