Rio Grande do Sul became the 3rd Brazilian state to reach the mark of 1 GW of installed power in solar DG (distributed generation), according to information collected by Solar Channel, based on data from ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency).
The federative unit joins the states of Minas Gerais and São Paulo, which had already reached the mark in 2021. In total, the municipalities in Rio Grande do Sul have more than 131.1 thousand UCs (Consumer Units) receiving credits and more than 104 thousand plants photovoltaic plants installed in all 497 municipalities.
In the same period last year, when the state had not even reached the 0.6 GW mark, there were 64.2 thousand UCs and 52.1 thousand systems installed in homes, rural areas, companies, commercial establishments and public power headquarters in the state. region.
